The European Care Pathways Conference 2013 was held on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st June. It took place in the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow and was hosted by the Scottish Pathways Association (SPA) and the European Pathway Association (EPA). Its theme was: supporting safe, effective and person centred care, through the use of care pathways.
This exciting international event showcased how care pathways are used in ensuring high quality health and social care, as well as facilitating learning, sharing of ideas and celebration of success. Over 150 people attended from a variety of countries including the UK, rest of Europe and beyond, with delegates coming from a range of academic, scientific, clinical and other professional backgrounds. Programme & Presentations
The programme for this prestigious event, included keynote speakers from the international world of care pathways and improvement science, as well as over 30 informative workshops and interactive master classes. In addition to the presentations an educational Poster Exhibition and competition took place with 45 authors displaying their work.
Speakers included Mr Michael Matheson MSP, Minister for Public Health; Jason Leitch, Clinical Director, The Quality Unit, Scottish Government; Dr. Kris Vanhaecht, Secretary General, European Pathways Association (EPA); and Professor Massimiliano Panella, President, EPA.
